As an artist, my mission is to create vibrant, thought-provoking works that engage the senses and foster a deep connection to my culture. My art celebrates color, identity, excellence, empowerment, and human connection, with the Black experience at its heart. Each piece is an exploration of identity and an homage to the pursuit of excellence and the beauty of embracing one’s true self. Art, to me, is a powerful force that unites, empowers, and inspires us all.

Otha “Vakseen” Davis III is a museum-exhibited painter, multi-platinum and diamond-certified music executive, producer, and songwriter. Born in Athens, GA and raised in Jacksonville, FL, he is a self-taught, Los Angeles–based visual artist whose career spans industries but always circles back to one core mission: using art as a vehicle for transformation.

Whether on canvas or in composition, Vakseen’s work is rooted in purpose. His name represents being “the cure”—a reminder that we can either complain about the world or become the solution. For him, art is how he chooses to show up, create change, and inspire others.

Through his signature Vanity Pop collage paintings and Legends Only portrait series, Vakseen celebrates beauty, identity, pop culture, and the richness of the Black experience. His art has been featured across major cultural platforms—from Nike to the History Channel, from MOCA Cleveland to Soho House London—and on screen in HBO’s Insecure, FX’s Snowfall, and CBS’s Poppa’s House.

He has been recognized as a featured artist and speaker at institutions including the NAACP National Convention, the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and galleries across the United States and abroad. His work has also been highlighted in leading publications such as Architectural Digest, American Art Collector, Black Enterprise, and Forbes.

Vakseen continues to merge art and entrepreneurship—building a practice rooted in healing, legacy, and cultural excellence. Explore his work at VakseenArt.com.
