Vanity Pop explores identity, beauty, empowerment, and cultural reclamation through vibrant, layered portraiture of women—primarily women of color. Though the paintings create the illusion of collage, every fragment, texture, pattern, and symbolic detail is rendered by hand, blending photorealism with abstraction to create harmony from complexity.

Faces are fragmented and rebuilt, not as symbols of brokenness, but as reflections of becoming—of the histories, desires, identities, and possibilities we carry at once. Cultural references, affirmations, text, and coded imagery reveal themselves over time, inviting viewers to look beyond the surface and reconsider how we see beauty, identity, and self-worth.
